Child safety standards

Relli applies zero tolerance to child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). Any content, message or behaviour of this kind is prohibited, removed, and reported to the competent authorities. This page sets out our standards, how to report, and our point of contact.

Adults only

Relli is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data concerning a minor and we do not allow minors to create an account. If we learn that an account belongs to a minor, it is deactivated.

What is strictly prohibited

The following are absolutely prohibited on Relli, without exception:

  • child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — real, computer-generated, drawn or altered, in any form (image, video, text, audio);
  • any sexualisation of a minor, even implied;
  • grooming, meaning building a minor's trust for the purpose of exploitation;
  • sextortion and sexual blackmail targeting a minor;
  • trafficking, sale, exploitation, or the brokering of a minor for sexual purposes or for labour;
  • any link, contact detail or message pointing to such content, whether inside or outside the app.

How to report

Every post, comment, message and profile can be reported directly in the app: press and hold the item, then choose “Report”. The report reaches our moderation team immediately.

For content involving a minor, write to us as a priority at [email protected], including the link to the post or the username concerned. These reports are handled before all others. You can also reach us by phone or WhatsApp on +243 999 520 389.

What we do when a CSAE report arrives

  • we review the report as a priority and remove the content without delay;
  • we suspend and then permanently ban the account or accounts responsible;
  • we preserve what is necessary (content, technical identifiers, account information) in order to pass it to the authorities;
  • we report cases to the competent authorities in the jurisdictions where we operate and, where applicable, to international child protection bodies (for example NCMEC for content falling within its remit);
  • we cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement.

Legal compliance

Relli complies with the applicable child protection laws in the jurisdictions where it operates, as well as with international standards prohibiting child sexual abuse and exploitation. Our rules prohibit this content and behaviour, and we act proactively whenever we become aware of it.
